The premiere of the play ‘Schwarze Schwäne' (Black Swans) will take place at the Pforzheim Theatre on 16 April, 8 pm.
Anne-Kathrin Hönes plays the role of the younger sister.

„Ich habe ein Geschenk für dich“, sagt die ältere Schwester zu der Jüngeren. Das Geschenk entpuppt sich als – eine Rosie des Typ 3. Und es scheint so, als ob der humanoide Pflegeroboter eine in jeder Hinsicht fantastische Lösung für die ebenso verfahrene wie ganz alltägliche Situation ist, in der sich die Frauen befinden: Denn als die Mutter der beiden sich nicht mehr alleine versorgen kann, stehen sie plötzlich vor einem Problem. Ein Heim kommt für die Jüngere nicht in Frage, aber die Pflege zu Hause führt sehr schnell zu Überforderung und Konflikten. Wie gut, dass es jetzt Rosie, den Roboter, gibt. Oder?
„Schwarze Schwäne“ stellt kluge Fragen nach den ethischen und moralischen Grundlagen unserer Entscheidungen und unseres Verhältnisses zu Technologie und Wissenschaft. Hilft uns die Künstliche Intelligenz oder ist sie eines Tages in der Lage, uns zu beherrschen? Der Dramatikerin Christina Kettering geht es aber auch um zwischenmenschliche Verantwortung, unvereinbare Lebensentwürfe und das Rollenverständnis von Frauen und Töchtern. „Schwarze Schwäne“ wurde 2019 beim ersten Dramenwettbewerb „Science & Theatre“ in Heilbronn preisgekrönt und wird seitdem international gespielt. Am Theater Pforzheim setzt das spannungsreiche Stück die Reihe zu neuen Technologien im Podium fort.

“I’ve got a present for you,” says the older sister to the younger one. The present turns out to be – a Type 3 Rosie. And it seems as though the humanoid care robot is a fantastic solution in every respect to the equally complicated yet entirely everyday situation the women find themselves in: For when their mother can no longer look after herself, they are suddenly faced with a problem. A care home is out of the question for the younger sister, but caring for her at home very quickly leads to overwhelm and conflict. How fortunate that Rosie, the robot, is now here. Or is it?
“Black Swans” poses intelligent questions about the ethical and moral foundations of our decisions and our relationship with technology and science. Does artificial intelligence help us, or will it one day be capable of controlling us? Playwright Christina Kettering is also concerned with interpersonal responsibility, incompatible life choices and the understanding of the roles of women and daughters. “Black Swans” won an award at the first “Science & Theatre” playwriting competition in Heilbronn in 2019 and has been performed internationally ever since. At the Pforzheim Theatre, this gripping play continues the Podium series on new technologies.
