Louise Brooks
Actress
Louise Brooks was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. When she was little, she was asked what she wanted to be, and by pure coincidence, she said she wanted to be an actress.
As it turned out, that wee girls answered actually turned out to be true. Growing up, the answer remained the same, aside from a small period where she wanted to open an animal sanctuary in Africa, but aside from that, the dream eventually became a goal. Fortunately, her school taught drama, and through small skits and learning the very basics, she realised that this was her kind of thing.
Louise attended a few local drama clubs, partook in some questionable school musical productions, and left school a year early to study acting.
She studied for three years at Edinburgh college, during that time performing yearly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and other small productions, revealing a particular skill in both comedy and darker materials.
After her studies, Louise managed to land the lead role for a short film named The Immunda Experiment. The production was comprised of aspiring actors and filmmakers, supplied with the tools necessary to produce a short film, and mentored by Casino Royale's Cinematographer Phil Meheux who described Louise as 'ahead of the curve'.
For her role Louise won Best Actor and Rising Star awards, and more importantly, came to the realisation that TV and Film is where her heart lies.
Thus, with the same group of close friends she made during the first short film, they made another, more ambitious film, in which Louise took on a supporting role.
Louise has been described as a talented and naturalistic actor with wonderful set etiquette and direct-ability. She is extremely malleable and open to new ideas and direction on set, and takes particular interest in breaking the mould.
