Blake J Askew
Actors, Actor-Singer
Hi there, I'm Blake. I'm a professional actor and singer. I was born originally in South Africa but am also a British citizen since birth and lived there for over twenty years and moved back to the United Kingdom where I worked professionally as an actor since around 2004. I now live in Germany and absolutely love it here. I also speak German.
Apart from being an actor I've always felt I would have been a therapist in a previous life. I find psychology fascinating and understanding the psyche of people and what really goes on. I find mythology, symbol and psychological profiling fascinating and i really think it helps with being an actor and creating characters. One of the most profound realisations I had was that everyone has their own point of view and speaks from that agenda and we can never REALLY know what another's motivations are unless we clearly communicate. I'm convinced that the arts are healing and also a vocation, a bit like the shamans of many civilisations would be .
Hope this gives you a bit of an idea of some of my passions!
